Santhosh Trophy Champions Kerala out from tourney in qualifying round

Kerala lost the game to Services 1-0. The first match loss against Telangana and second match loss against Puthucheri put Kerala in a do or die situation in the third match which also the defending champions failed to make up.

Neyveli | Kerala, the defending champions in the Santosh Trophy football, are out of the tournament. In the third attempt of the qualifying round the  champions were busted by services with no goals. Had Kerala won two goals in the match against Services today, there would have been a marginal  chance for a next round entry.
A 1-0 defeat was where services finished Kerala dreams. In the 62nd minute goal scored by Vikas Thapa gave services the edge. In the first match against Telangana, and in the second match against Puthucheri Kerala faced setbacks.
Former indian player VP Shaji, who was part of the Santhosh Trophy team that lifted the trophy, is the coach of the present team. Of the three games played, Kerala could not score a single goal. Failure of a fronline was evident from the team's 3 match performance.
