Dhar | In view of the current situation of corona infection in the state due to increasing number of patients, the State Jail Department has banned the meeting of prisoners. The prisoners will not be able to meet till March 31. However, family members will be able to do e-meeting.
According to the order of the Prisons Department, there will be a ban on the meeting of friends, family members and acquaintances of prisoners till March 31 to prevent the spread of the epidemic inside the jails. Jail inmates will be able to avail the facility of e-meeting (through video), calls and incoming phone calls. In this way, e-meeting family members will be able to talk to the prisoners lodged in the jail through e-mulakat i.e. video call or telephone call.
At the same time, people coming to meet in jail, they are less educated and people coming from tribal areas are not aware of this change and are facing difficulties. The jail employees are helping them to get the e-meeting done or giving them information.
Families will have to apply online for video call by visiting www.eprisons.nic.in. There will be a facility to talk to the prisoners through telephone between 9 am to 1 pm. Let us inform you that after the decline in the cases of corona virus last year, the relatives were allowed to interact with the prisoners in the jail.
