On the 53rd day of release, Walt Disney’s Black Panther dipped below $1 million per day. The film grossed around $642,000 on Monday, bringing its domestic total up to $666.2m. Under normal circumstances, it would have dipped last week, on its 46th day of release, but the Spring Break holiday gave it an extra week of $1m+ daily grosses.

So now it sits alongside Frozen and The Avengers as a huge movie that dropped below $1m on its 53rd day of release. It’s not a record, both Universal’s Jurassic Park and DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek 2 held out until day 55, but it’s still damn impressive.

For those keeping track of such trivia, Spider-Man, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Jurassic World all dipped below $1 million in daily domestic grosses on day 46, while Wonder Woman held on until day 47. Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc.'s The Dark Knight, Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Disney’s The Jungle Book all dipped on day 41. Rogue One dipped on day 35 while Last Jedi fell on day 34. Oh, and as for Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace? That leggy summer blockbuster didn’t dip below $1 million a day until its 62nd day of release.
